About the project

In the national park Zumberak-Samoborske gorje, a new educational center was recently built in the village of Sosice, in the middle of the nature reserve. All kinds of projects will be organized in the education center to raise awareness among local and less local people about the importance of the nature park, its ecosystems and biodiversity. There will be a small museum in the center, an amphitheater for outdoor performances, a cafeteria & accommodation for school groups or groups of (international) volunteers. This summer they would let the Bouworde volunteers help with the maintenance of the grasslands and “environmental cleaning”. It is the intention that the local community of Sosice (50 people) will also be involved in the activities of the educational center, but that may not be the case next summer
