Tasks and activities
The volunteer will be on the project for 12 months. During this period, he/she will discover, run and experiment a lot of different kinds of activities. The main activity of the ESC volunteer will be to implement projects on the fight against climate change. There will be a lot of freedom for the volunteer to try and experiment with new projects. We are not an organization which has already planned activities, but we give the possibility to volunteers to try the activities they want. We will be here as support in this, we will give you advices and tools, but mainly in the activities you will have autonomy in the construction of your project.
March – May
- Getting to know Concordia organization and understand its concepts and values
- Getting a clear understanding of the activities organized by Concordia in Orleans
- Getting to know the team of volunteers and the members of the organization
- Getting acquainted with daily schedule and tasks
- Taking part in the coordination of activities organized by Concordia and partners
- Organizing activities in a team on the environment raising awareness for people of all ages.
- Joining a ESC on–arrival training proposed by the Erasmus + Agency
- Participating in a training session on how to be workcamp leader
During the summer, the volunteer will lead or co–lead international volunteers’ work camps with Concordia and will
have training for that.
- Organizing the arrival of an international workcamp : logistical preparation and project implementation (to
understand better what is a workcamp, please have a look the Concordia website) - Leading a international workcamp (objectives of the workcamp : to organize activities for volunteers during the
week)
Oct – Feb
- Participate in the mid–term training proposed by the Erasmus + Agency
- Organizing workshops to promote the European Solidarity Corps
- Organizing activities in team on the environmental raising awareness
- Will have the opportunity to start working/writing is/her own project
- Will help volunteers, which will join us in October, get to know CONCORDIA and everything you know
The volunteer will be at the office from Monday to Thursday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, with some coffee breaks and a
one hour lunch break during which he/she will be able to go home as it is 1 min walk from the office.
She/he will be allowed to take 2 days off per month (when she/he wants regarding the activity schedule). Sometimes,
some activities take place during evenings or the weekend; she/he will have some days off also in that case.
About the organization
Concordia is a French national non–governmental and non–profit organization, founded in 1950 by English, German and French youngsters. Their aim was to enhance the values of tolerance and peace after the 2nd world war by organizing international workcamps of young volunteers. The main objectives of Concordia are the following:
- Education in helping young people to grow up by acquisition of collective life.
- Culture in favoring the youth exchange on an international level, always emphasizing the values of peace, friendship and mutual respect.
- Social in taking part in concrete actions of solidarity, as well as supporting a civic attitude
- Social economy in contributing to realization of local development, in favor of the environment, patrimony, tourism and socio–educational animation.

Profile of the participant
Be between 18 and 30 years old:
- Have a good motivation and a desire to discover the associative world and all its activities
- Be comfortable to work with children, teenager and families, willing to work with young people from different
nationalities and religions - Be ready to be challenged and to learn the French language
- Wish to work in team with other volunteers from differents countries
- Be interested by the field of environment and more
- Be able to work with a computer
- Having a good English level
- Be communicative and open–minded
