Volunteer Opportunity at Ton sur Ton – La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland

We are currently looking for motivated and committed volunteers to join our team through the European Voluntary Service (EVS) programme (aka ESC). Below you will find all relevant information regarding the volunteer profile, practical arrangements, funding, and application process.

Volunteer Positions

Volunteers will be involved in a variety of activities, depending on their interests and the ongoing projects at Ton sur Ton. We are currently looking to fill the following roles:

  • Cultural Mediation and Event Support
    Assist in organising, promoting, and running cultural events such as concerts, exhibitions, and workshops. Help with setting up spaces, welcoming guests, and supporting artists or performers.

  • Youth and Community Activities
    Support youth engagement initiatives, including educational workshops, games, and creative sessions for children and teenagers. Assist in facilitating inclusive and interactive community events.

  • Communication and Media
    Help with the organisation’s online presence through photography, video editing, content creation for social media, and updating the website. Basic knowledge of graphic design is a plus.

Volunteers are encouraged to take initiative and propose their own projects or activities based on their skills and passions. Creativity, autonomy, and collaboration are highly valued at Ton sur Ton.

Volunteer Profile

Ideal candidates for this opportunity should meet the following criteria:

  • Aged between 20 and 30 years

  • Good command of English; knowledge of French (basic or good) is an asset

  • Enjoy working with people and engaging in social or cultural activities

  • Willing to learn and open to new experiences

  • Able to work independently and take initiative

Practical Arrangements

Accommodation
Volunteers are provided with a single room in a shared apartment with other international volunteers. The apartment includes a shared bathroom, kitchen, and living area, and is located within a cultural centre in La Chaux-de-Fonds, close to Ton sur Ton.

Food
Volunteers receive a monthly food allowance and are responsible for preparing their own meals.

Transportation
A Half Fare Travel Card is provided for travel within Switzerland.

Funding

This opportunity is funded by Movetia within the EVS programme. The support includes:

  • Board and lodging

  • International travel reimbursement up to 400 CHF

  • Monthly pocket money of 250 CHF

  • Participation in EVS training sessions
