ESC Volunteering Opportunity: Marketing & Communications in the Netherlands

SIW International Volunteer Projects is looking for a motivated and creative volunteer to join our marketing and communications team for a one-year European Solidarity Corps (ESC) project in Utrecht, the Netherlands. This is an opportunity to gain practical experience in marketing and communications while supporting international volunteering initiatives.

About the Role

As a volunteer, you will:

  • Create visual content and implement our new house style
  • Develop and execute marketing campaigns
  • Analyze and improve social media performance
  • Promote SIW’s global initiatives online and at events
  • Assist with office tasks, customer relations, and volunteer training
  • Organize cultural activities for volunteers
  • Dedicate time to personal development

Accommodation, Food & Travel

  • You will live in a private bedroom in an apartment above our office in Utrecht, a central and vibrant university city.
  • A bicycle will be provided for daily transportation.
  • You will receive a monthly food and pocket allowance.
  • Travel costs from your home country to the Netherlands (and back) will be reimbursed according to ESC distance bands. Sustainable travel (train or bus) is encouraged.

Training & Support

  • Half a working day per week is reserved for personal development.
  • Regular mentoring sessions with the ESC coordinator.
  • Participation in on-arrival and mid-term ESC training in the Netherlands.
  • Opportunities for additional assignments and training.
  • Dutch language learning support.
  • A buddy system for practical guidance and social integration.

Who Can Apply?

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a strong interest in marketing and communication (experience with Canva or InDesign is a plus).
  • Is independent, proactive, and comfortable creating a social life outside of work.
  • Enjoys working in a team and connecting with people from different backgrounds.
  • Is eager to learn about Dutch language and culture (previous knowledge is a bonus).
  • Can adapt to a dynamic and fast-paced NGO environment.

Selection Process: Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an online info session on Thursday, March 20. Attendance is required to proceed.
