Volunteers

~ 12 young people aged 16-25
~ 6 French, 6 international
~ Volunteering for a civic service in Caen, Normandy, for 8 months

 

Goal

~ Educating other young people about Human Rights
~ Working in various french educational establishments with a diverse range of young people
~ Promoting the Freedom Prize: an international event where young people from all over the world can nominate and reward people or organizations committed to Human Rights

 

Training and perks

~ Training by Unis-Cité, Amnesty International, the International Institute for Human Rights and Peace, among others
~ A wide range of activities to encourage inclusion with the other volunteers, such as workshops and group projects
~ Volunteers get to discover and travel across Normandy, a region with a history that is rich and entangled with the struggle for Human Rights, and perhaps even other regions around it!

 

Tasks

A wide range of different tasks aiming at building, organizing and running activities and events for other young people:

~ Contacting establishments
~ Creating activities
~ Managing travel
~ Running awareness-raising and educational event for audiences ranging from 3 to over 300 people!

 

ACCOMMODATION, FOOD AND TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS

The program covers: travel expenses, accommodation, food (allowance), bus transport and bike sharing, pocket money and health and other insurance.

● Duration: 8 months
● Project Start: Mid-October – 14 October 24 to 13 June 2025

 

PARTICIPANT PROFILE

Motivation to improve your command of French, ability to communicate with different people. Enjoy working on a team. A desire to be in contact with the elderly is essential. The driving licence is not required. Due to a short timing we are not able to recruit volunteers that need a visa.
