WHO: Young people 18-30 years old, the project is open for volunteers coming from EU member countries.
WHAT: Living in a rural area as a young person has many disadvantages due to the geographic isolation, distances, and fragmentation of the territory.
This makes facilitating aggregation difficult. Young people need places to meet, share, discuss, experiment, grow, and learn to interact with reality. They need opportunities to exchange and develop a sense of belonging and create their identity in a group of peers and then in the community itself.
As a volunteer, you will be assigned to different tasks such as youth animation, social media management, administrative support, outdoor activities, and manual work.
Activity schedule
The project is composed of a 35 hours week of work and activities, 5 days of work, and 2 days free per week. Usually, the work will be placed from Monday to Friday, although this project offers a dynamic working schedule and includes working on the weekends or longer periods. In this case, the volunteers will get or collect extra free days.
The volunteers will collect 2 days of holiday each month, and can be used for travel or other personal activities after agreeing with the hosting association.
Housing, food and travel information
The volunteers will be giving monthly pocket and food money, to self-manage food and everyday expenses. The housing charge will be fully covered by the hosting organization.
The volunteers will be located in a shared apartment or house in Poggio Catino, a small mountain village, alongside other volunteers of the project.
The cost of the travel will be covered by the project up to a max cost of 275€. The travel tickets will be booked by the volunteer and refunded by the coordinating organization. All tickets, invoices, or/and boarding passes must be saved and presented to be refunded.
