About the Project
Smokinya Foundation holds a Quality Label and this Volunteering Teams activity is part of a 7 yrs strategy for youth development 2021-2027.
In 2023 we had a successful pilot edition and hosted 37 people for 4 weeks in Mrachenik

Program and timetable
Activities will be 5 days per week from Monday to Friday (7-8 hrs / day)
Two days off per week for all the participants
Prepare yourself for working individually or in a team in International Community
- Week 1: onboarding / orientation
- Week 2: Actions in ATs
- Week 3: Finalizing + Reflections

Soft skills
You can practise leadership, communication, team work and other skills useful to find a job
Cultural exchange
You will be in direct contact with Bulgarian culture and values, as well as with international volunteers
Time for yourself
You can focus on yourself in a quiet environment, in contact with nature and without the stress of the city
Participant’s Profile
Age limit: young people, aged between 18 – 29 years old
Motivation: Willing to do community work, and live in basic outdoor camp conditions
Ability: Able to do physical work and learn hands-on skills
Countries: EU residents. Limited places for citizens of countries who do not need visa for Bulgaria for up to 90 days
Location
Mrachenik is located in Sredna gora mountain. An hour from Plovdiv, and 20 min from Karlovo. Altitude of 600 m, oak and beech forest.
Financial Conditions
Fully Funded Volunteering -Project by ESC Programme
Pocket Money – 5 Euro per day. Each volunteer will receive the pocket money by the end of each week in BGN (local currency)
Foods – 3 Meals per day. Provided 3 meals per day (mostly vegetarian) + fruit, snacks, coffee, tea
Travel Expenses – Will be reimbursed. Travel cost will be reimbursed after the project up to 360 euro depends on your current location
