We’ll create new approaches to youth work that address today’s challenges and opportunities. The seminar will use non-formal education methodologies that promote active participation, explorative and experiential learning, ensuring you take away concrete results.

About the Expert Seminar

Dates: May 20-22, 2025

Seminar Aim: Exchange experiences and methodologies on participation to increase youth involvement and improve youth work quality.

Participant Profile

  • Youth workers, representatives of youth organizations, or experts in youth work interested in participation
  • At least 21 years old
  • A resident of an EU member state or an associated country
  • Interested in learning and applying methods to engage youth in decision-making and community activities

Learning Goals

  • Provide youth workers with tools and strategies to involve young people in decision-making and community activities.
  • Share innovative methods to make youth participation more effective, inclusive, and responsive.
  • Facilitate experience exchange, fostering collaboration and idea sharing.
  • Promote creativity and innovation to address challenges and develop effective youth work solutions.
  • Enhance key skills such as facilitation, communication, and program design for engaging young people.

Accommodation

You’ll stay at Dependance Vodišek in the city center of Koper, with twin rooms (two single beds). Breakfast will be provided at Hotel Capris Capodistria (5 minutes walking distance). Lunch and snacks will be at PiNA’s premises, and dinner will be in a local restaurant. Coffee, tea, and juice will be available throughout the day.

Travel Reimbursement

Travel costs will be reimbursed based on your travel distance:

Travel Tips

We suggest flying to Trieste, Venice Marco Polo, Treviso (Italy), Ljubljana, or Wien (Austria), and then taking a shuttle bus or train to Koper. If you prefer a greener option (non-flying transport), please contact us for guidance.

Insurance

Each participant must arrange their own health and travel insurance for their stay in Slovenia, in addition to the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC). The EHIC grants access to necessary medical care in EU countries.
