Earth Artivists Training & Songwriting Workshop
Voices for Change: Music and Volunteering for Climate and Social Justice
Karen, Kenya | 18–28 June 2025
What’s this all about?
We’re looking for one motivated and creative person from Estonia to join an international crew of artists, activists, and changemakers in Kenya this June.
This 10-day workshop combines music, activism, and volunteering to explore how we can use creativity to fight for climate justice and equality. You’ll get hands-on with songwriting, dive into big topics like colonial legacies and greenwashing, and come out of it ready to take real action in your local community.
You’ll also help create a powerful, multilingual song based on real-life stories from the local community.
Why should you care?
Because climate justice needs more than facts. It needs voices, stories, and people willing to act.
This is your chance to:
-
Work with musicians from the International Music Council
-
Learn how to lead local projects and mobilise your community
-
Explore decolonial thinking, activism, and creative education
-
Connect with inspiring people from all over the world
-
Bring home a toolkit, a song, a music video — and a head full of new ideas
What you’ll actually do
-
Dive into topics like climate injustice, colonialism, and global power dynamics
-
Create a song from scratch with others — lyrics, melody, music video
-
Learn how to use storytelling and music to raise awareness
-
Visit and learn from local communities
-
Plan how you’ll turn your experience into action back home
After the training, you’ll take part in (or lead) a local action in Estonia as part of the international Voices for Change campaign.
Who we’re looking for
-
You’re involved in music, activism, community work or creative arts
-
You care deeply about environmental justice and inclusion
-
You’re open to learning new perspectives and ideas
-
You’re ready to do something afterwards — not just attend
-
You speak and understand English
-
You’re at least 18 years old (ideally under 30 — we aim for at least 30% of participants to be under 30)
We especially encourage people from underrepresented backgrounds or with fewer opportunities to apply.
