Be Aware of Your Rights! – Training for Human Rights Education Facilitators
Dates: 20–29 June 2025
Location: Bușteni, Romania
Deadline to apply: 14 May 2025
What is this about?
Be Aware of Your Rights! is an Erasmus+ training course for youth workers who want to strengthen their skills as facilitators in Human Rights Education.
The training will gather participants from across Europe to explore how human rights can be taught, protected, and lived out in our communities — through engaging, experiential, and non-formal learning.
Whether you’re just starting out or looking to deepen your work in this field, this is an opportunity to gain knowledge, practical tools, and motivation to promote equality, dignity, and justice.
Why Human Rights Education?
Human rights are not just about laws — they are about everyday values: equality, respect, dignity, freedom, and justice. Educating others about these values is essential in building inclusive societies and empowering people to recognize and defend their rights.
The training will focus especially on groups most vulnerable to human rights violations, such as:
-
Women and girls
-
LGBTQI+ people
-
Migrants, refugees, and asylum seekers
-
Ethnic, racial and religious minorities
-
People with disabilities, youth, elderly people
-
Individuals facing poverty, homelessness, mental health struggles, etc.
Learning Goals
The aim is to raise the capacity of youth workers to plan, facilitate, and evaluate Human Rights Education activities in their local contexts.
By the end of the training, you will:
- Understand core concepts of human rights (history, legal frameworks, principles, etc.)
- Learn how to facilitate using non-formal education methods
- Gain experience in designing and leading workshops on human rights topics
- Boost your confidence and motivation as a human rights advocate
- Discover how to embed human rights values into your everyday youth work
Methodology & Facilitators
The training is based on experiential learning and interactive group processes. You’ll be actively involved through:
-
