Introduction:
Orissaare Youth center was built and opened in 2013. Youth center target groups are the young people from the age of 7-26. The youth center is part of the local community. Center works together with the local high school, hobby schools, library and culture house. Projects are held with Muhu and Tornimäe Youth Centers. Young people have the possibility to play billiards, table football, different board games and console games. There is a music recording studio, possibility to socialize with peers, make creative projects etc. All hobby schools, shops, bus stations, and libraries are in the same area ( 300m radius). Youth Center is based on the principle of open youth work, which means that the youngsters are offered different opportunities to participate on a voluntary basis in order to support their involvement in society and coping in social life. The ideas should come from the youngsters and based on their needs and interests. It is very important to support young people’s initiative.
Location:
Saare County is in western Estonia, on the island of Saaremaa. Saaremaa is the largest island in Estonia. Saaremaa Parish is also the largest municipality in Estonia by land area. The administrative centre of the municipality is its only town Kuressaare. Orissaare is a small borough in Saaremaa Parish. Orissaare is a beautiful and peaceful place to live. Orissaare marina with the Islet of Illiku and a Small Channel (Väike Väin) are offering good conditions for sailing. The Islet of Illiku also belongs to the international bird protection reserve where people have a good opportunity to observe birds and hear their singing concert. Everything you need is right there: high school, kindergarten, library, food store, youth centre, hobby schools (musical, sports), culture house and good bus connection with Kuressaare and mainland.

- Language: English; Russian and German help a lot
