Host of the activity:

Vive Mexico, is an international non-governmental and non-profit organization that
has developed projects for International Voluntary Service, International Intercultural Training, and International Cooperation for Development since 1996.

 

Main activities:

Main activities consist of organizing international projects in Mexico and send
Mexican volunteers to participate in projects organized by our partner organizations in
different countries.

 

 

About Sea Turtles Conservation-

The main achievement of the project is to protect the sea turtles with the help of volunteers
who will be cooperating with a team of biologists.

Activities are: finding adult turtles and collect their eggs; moving the eggs to a protected place called Vivero; releasing newborn baby turtles into the sea; patrolling the beaches at night.

Location:

Rincon de Guayabitos, also known as Guayabitos, is a beach town located in the astonishing Sierra Madre Occidental, in the state of Nayarit and bathed by the waters of the Pacific Ocean. It is a popular tourist destination due to its proximity to the cities of Tepic, Guadalajara and Puerto Vallarta.

Special requirments:
This camp is open for everyone who are sensible and open minded. It is crucial for the participants to respect, open to learn and appreciate the conditions of rural lifestyle of indigenous communities, as well as their culture and wisdom.

Participation fee:

Participation fee is 355 Euros. The fee includes food, hosting, necessary materials
and local transportation for work activities.

 

 

Hands for Apizaco México camp – 2023-08-09  2023-08-16

 

  • The volunteers will participate in cleaning the Apizaquito lagoon.
  • They will carry out reforestation of trees in the Anden Park. This place is considered the largest lung of the City of Apizaco.
  • The volunteers will paint murals creating a union between the different counties, where they will be able to express part of their culture, carrying out a cultural exchange through painting together with the community and guided by professional muralists from the locality.
  • By participating in this project, you will acquire the global skills of Adaptability, Global Awareness, Strategic Thinking and Collaborative Planning.

Location: 

Apizaco is located in the state of Tlaxcala and it is around half-hour away by car from the capital,
Tlaxcala.

One Earth, Environmental Awareness Workcamp México –  2023-08-23 2023-09-04

  • The volunteers will be planting trees in educational institutions and areas that require
    reforestation with the participation of high school and university students.
  • The volunteers will perform awareness talks for groups of people between the ages of 15 and 20 regarding the activities or strategies they carry out in their countries of origin to care for the environment.
  • By participating in this project, you will acquire the global skills of Adaptability, Global Awareness, Strategic Thinking and Collaborative Planning.

Location: 

Ciudad Serdán is located in the state of Puebla and it is around hour and a half away by car from the capital “Puebla”.

There is no participation fee for this project.

 

Medium term projects (workcamps):

  • Sea Turtles Conservation Camp Leader VI – 2024-01-03  2024-02-05

Work:

The volunteer will be the project leader and will be the responsible for the coordination of the activities that the group of international volunteers will engage in. Each MTV includes two short term projects that will be led by a volunteer.

Location: 

MORELIA, founded in 1541, was one of the first Spanish cities in Nueva España.

Participation fee:

There is no participation fee for this project. The volunteer will be receiving a compensation of 1000 Mexican pesos for each workcamp.
