My name is Viktoria Gurskaya, I’m from Russia. I’ve spent a year working as an EVS volunteer in a nice Estonian town Kohila.
People I worked with became my Estonian family. And in the end of my project I wanted to leave something after myself, something that will remind them about this amazing year full of interesting events and adventures. Initiative project gave me the chance to express myself in three ways.
I think photos are one of the best ways to keep memories. So, as the first part of my initiative project, with the help of the youngsters we made a bright and colourful sign KANK (Kohila Avatud Noortekeskus) on the wall of our Noortekeskus. You can watch a short video of the way it was made here: https://youtu.be/XeCxLGCoo_w
I also wanted to involve the young people in some craft work as I know how much they like it. So the second part of my initiative project was an unusual map of Estonia.
My third part of the initiative project includes original memorable presents to my colleagues from Kohila Noortekeskus, kindergarden Sipsik and Haageri Noortekeskus.
I hope that during long cold evenings each of them will lighten his own bottle and it will brighten their homes and warm up their hearts with good memories and unforgettable moments.
Victoria Gurskaya stayed in Estonia for 12 months within the project ”Broadening Horizons” which is funded by Erasmus+ European Voluntary Service program.
