A volunteer that works in a Kindergarten near Pärnu hosted a World Christmas Evening. She invited volunteers to do some games/handcrafts/traditional Christmas things what we are doing in our countries and we did it with the children of the Kindergarten.
The event was in the evening and all the families of the Kindergarten were invited. Me, Dominik, and another Austrian volunteer made Christmas cards together with the children.
For me it was interesting to see how the volunteer of the Kindergarten organized everything. The project contained a lot of communication and preparation of course. I got a first glimpse of what is needed when you want to organize a bigger event. A lot of families came to this event and very curious about why we are here. They got information why so many volunteers are here in Estonia. The kids had the opportunity to get in contact with new traditions and foreign countries.
Dominik Galehr will stay in Estonia for 11 months within the project ”Boost the Mind” which is funded by Erasmus+ European Voluntary Service program.
