Introduction
Kiisupere kindergarten has 7 groups of children from age 1,5 to 7 years old. We are located in three different buildings and the volunteer will be working with children aged 18 months to 3 years. We are multicultural kindergarten, with a wish to learn about different countries and cultures. The volunteer would enrich the kindergarten everyday life.
We aim to develop children in different areas:
- General physical development
- Educational activities
- Musical and physical skills
- Cognitive skills
- Self-service skills
- Self-management and social skills
- Play skills
Location
Our kindergarten is situated in Tallinn city center, capital of Estonia.
Work tasks and proposed activities
The volunteer can contribute in organising events and assisting teacher making decorations, helping children taking part of educational activities, playing with children in classroom and playground, taking part of field trips, helping children getting dressed, washing hands, going to toilet and drying hands.
The volunteer is also encouraged to organise events to introduce his/ her country and culture to children, parents and kindergarten staff. Also to have regular meetings with other volunteers in local kindergartens and organising events in each others’ kindergartens.
Benefits of volunteering
The volunteer gains basic knowledge of child development and the system, how a primary education organisation in Estonia works. Has an opportunity to organise events for children as well as families and teachers.
Requirements for the volunteer
- Motivated to learn about Estonian pre-school education
- Motivated to work with children
- Cheerful, self-conducting, open
- Speaks at least intermediate level of English
