Необычная возможность поехать волонтером на природу Норвегии.
Aalstveit (Hemvegan)Farm, Hemsedal, Norway. Situated in the mountains of southern Norway midway between Oslo and Bergen. In recent years the main industry Hemsedal has become tourism but the traditional way of life is based on small scale farming and forestry. There is a growing interest to develop sustainable nature and culture based tourism.
Aims and Background
To promote and develop sustainable, organic farming and social/cultural development in the marginal mountain landscape in and around Hemsedal. Despite the relatively high standard of living in Norway small scale traditional mountain farming is declining rapidly. The historical and traditional small scale farming here includes many solutions to realizing a sustainable, ecological and peaceful community which will attract people interested in a green future.

On the main floor, above, is a social room where people can eat and socialize, a small kitchen where food is made, two small changing rooms with WC`s and showers. There is also a room for storage, an office, a room for handicrafts and a room for alternative treatment (Rosen Method, Zone therapy).
HeimVegen is a very small family organisation run by us; Kirsten and Jeremy Aalstveit Wilson from our family mountain farm, Aalstveit, in Hemsedal. We have a small flock of indigenous mountain sheep (55 ewes) which we maintain organically. Kirsten makes traditional handicrafts from the wool and sheepskins. We also harvest trees in our forest for building materials, fence posts, gates and firewood. During the Summer we move to the higher mountain shieling with the sheep. There are many old paths on our land used by the public which need clearing regularly. The farm and forestry with much physical work outside, mountain living, following the seasonal flow of work, play and rest in the taiga and tundra landscape – these are the base and background for the activities offered by us.
Kirsten grew up on the farm which has belonged to her family since at least the viking age. As well as making, teaching and selling handicrafts, she practices and offers treatment in Rosen Method, Classical Massage and Zone Therapy.
Jeremy, grew up in the Scout movement, works as a wilderness and mountain guide. He also teaches meditation and martial arts and from this he is familiar with Japanese people and culture.
Both of us enjoy folk dancing and this often is included as part of the activities.
Many of the activities we offer are on a professional basis. This supports other voluntary services which we offer such as folk dance, cultural activities, meditation and more.
