About the project
We have hosted 85 volunteers from 17 different countries in 21 EVS / ESC short and long term projects from the year 2012 until now.
The work is in our office from Monday until Friday, 5-6 hours per day, weekends are free and this time you can spend how you wish, go to see our region or travel around Croatia. When it comes to the work in Alfa Albona, the work will be about helping us out with local youth activities and with organizing kids workshops, different campaigns, Time to move and Eurodesk activities, promotion of volunteering, helping with social media, helping with researches, writing articles, etc. Each week we agree what we need to do and then arrange all the things for that. We also cooperate with other local NGOs so it may happen at the point of staying we will have different actions with them. Also, any fresh ideas are more than welcome to be implemented. For these activities you will be placed in the town of Labin, in a shared flat for the months of May, September, October and November.
In the summer we do youth summer scout camps and within we do a lot of different activities: first we need to prepare the camp, build some facilities, maintain the camp, put up the tents…and later on we have implementations of youth camps as well as youth exchanges and other youth activities there. While having summer camp each volunteer is placed in his/her own single tent. This goes for the months of June, July and August.
Practical
The return travel is paid. Volunteers also get health insurance, visa, pocket money and money for food + the accommodation and utilities are paid. When situated in the summer camp volunteers are provided food there, so in months of June, July and August they don’t receive the money for food as the food is provided and cooked daily, but only pocket money.
Each week there will be a Croatian language course organized, if the volunteers want, and if they need any additional support or help we will be here.
Labin is a small town, but really beautiful and with nice people full of hospitality.
Application
For applying for this project volunteers need to send us their their CV and answer our questionnaire (attached) to anja.alfaalbona@gmail.com.
This is a must step for applying, after which we will agree for the online short interview after which we make our final decision.
The deadline to send the application is 11.3.2022. and after that we are not accepting more applications.
The final decision for 2 volunteers we will take, will be made the latest till 18.3.2022. which leaves us with enough time to prepare for the volunteer coming, do the documents and agreement, health insurance, plan travelling and buy the travel tickets…etc.
After finishing the service, each volunteer receives the EU certificate Youthpass + Certificate from the European Solidarity programme.
