About Egyesek Youth Association

Egyesek is a community of active youth and young professionals. We contribute to build communities where people are aware of their own freedom of choice, they do what they love and connect with each other peacefully. We inspires, empowers and supports youth in successfully taking responsibility in their lives and the lives of their communities. Egyesek operates from 3 locations in Hungary (Budapest, Szécsény and Hollókő) with 8 full-time proefessionals and 10 long-term ESC volunteers per year.

 

Profile of the volunteer

• between 18-30 years old
• interested in non-formal learning activities and grassroots youth work
• interested in designing and delivering creative workshops for kids
• interested to spend 10 months in an international group while building the local community

 

Activities

• Your own initiative – putting your project idea into practice with professional support.
• Organization related tasks – social media; community work at Creative Space in Hollókő; assisting at our activities ( trainigngs, workcamps and youth exchanges).
• Elderly house and nursery home – organizing workshops; participating in local events.
• Creative workshops in schools and youth centers – organizing and delivering English creative workshops at 6 different locations; organizing events with the local community.

 

Location and accommodation

The accomodation is located in Szécsény, a historical small town in the north of Hungary with approximately 6000 inhabitants. It is directly connected to all activity locations, and to Budapest as well. You can easily reach all the locations by local transportation. There are all basic institutions in the town: bank, pharmacy, hospital, supermarkets, cafés, community centre. You will be staying in a rented house with 6 rooms, 1 kitchen and 2 bathroomsand office. office Basic furniture, washing machine, equipments, bedsheets and WIFI is provided.
