Activity description
The F5 project aims at reducing the differences in personal development and education opportunities between young people aged 13 – 26 in rural vs. urban Romania. The volunteers will contribute to the redecoration and refreshment of the only fully private Rural Youth Centre in Romania in order to refresh the space and the programme of activities with and for young people in the community. Thus they will contribute to the creation of a suitable space for the young people in the commune to meet and to put together their ideas and to turn them into activities and to serve as a dedicated space for youth work activities. Moreover, they volunteers will also plan and implement activities in the youth centre and in locations of partner institutions (schools, cultural centres, libraries etc).
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
– reimbursement of travel costs in the end of the stay according to the rules of the programme – accommodation in house in the village. The house will be shared with other volunteers hosted by the organization – food allowance and pocket money – local transport bus permits and car when needed for activities
Training during the activity
– coordination, materials for activities and equipment – task-related trainings such as teambuilding, health and security, event management, basic youthwork and group dynamics, communication, – mentor support – language training
Participant profile
The volunteer – is between 18 and 30 years old – is available for the full 8 months mobility – is motivated to do international volunteering – is strongly motivated to live and work in rural area – is interested in learning a different European language – is motivated to work with children and young people – is motivated to do physical tasks related to redecoration of the building – is motivated to develop new competences and to learn about community development – has good English communication skills, spoken and written.
