About the project
Working with the support of the organisation staff (technical mentors), the volunteers will participate in technical works (painting, insulation, plumbing, electricity works, toilets installation, room creation…) to improve people’s home. The inhabitants are people who are facing social and economic difficult and challenging situations whose the improvement of their living conditions. There will be a lot of collective workshop as well involving inhabitants and related to DIY.
Although the main purpose is the carrying out of the technical work, the activity has therefore an important social and human aspect that makes the intervention different from a professional one. Furthermore, most of the time the volunteers share the lunch (or at least a coffee) with the family which provides a valuable time to get to know each other and may create strong links based on trust and sharing.

Locations
- Bordeaux, from now on until the 31/03/22. Volunteer hosted in a volunteer’s house, 2 other long-term volunteers living near the house.
- Lorient, from now on until the 11/03. Volunteer hosted in a residence (individual apartment).
- Rennes, from now on, no limit of time. Volunteer hosted in a volunteer’s house with 2 long-term volunteers.
- Clermont-Ferrand, from now on until the 31/03/22. Volunteer hosted in an apartment with another international long-term volunteer
Practical
Logistic of the trip: The details about the trip will be determined with the local team (nearest airport and train station, pick-up time).
Accommodation: Depending on the place of volunteering, the short-term volunteer will be hosted in a volunteer’s house with other long-term volunteers of the organization, or in a residence. The short-term volunteer will have his/her own room.
Maximum travel cost: the cost will be determined according to the address which is given by the volunteer.
Pocket and food money: the volunteer will receive 6€ for a day as pocket money in addition to food money.
