The aim of the training is to raise awareness of educators and youth workers of dealingwith issues on history and memory
(with focus on changes in Europe in 1980th-1990th)
through offering them new perspectives on such work, experience and debriefing non-formal educa-tional methods
and working together on visions of such work in frames of international youth ex-changes.
The objectives of the training are to promote opportunities for the participants:
to raise awareness of their own attitudes towards history and memory (with focus on changes in Europe in 1980th -1990th), the connected practices connected and impact these issues have on them and their work;
to get an opportunity to reflect their work with youth and get feedback on their approachesfrom different perspectives;
to learn (to experience and understand the specifics) non-formal educational methods, thatcan be used in work with issues of history and memory;
to understand new perspectives and aspects of non-formal citizenship education, pro-gramme design and international youth exchanges as well as try to reflect own practice and work together through them;
to get to know different narratives and interpretation of changes in Europe in 1980th-1990th, it’s complicity and implications and discuss what can be focus of international youth pro-jects on this topic;
to reflect how addressing to issues of memory and history (and specifically connected withthe changes in Europe in 1980th -1990th) can deal with needs of young people and developing their competences to live in today’s divers society.
young people of 19-26 (as exception 18-30) years with some experience as youthworkers / youth leaders/ educators,
who are: interested to learn about non-formal citizenship education dealing with issues of memoryand history (on example of changes in Europe in 1980th-1990th) and its application in context ofinternational youth exchanges;
open to have new experience, share and appreciate different ideas and perspectives, reflec-tion on their own memory culture and educational practice;
ready to take part in all activities of intensive training programme, based on interactive anddialogue methods of non-formal education; able to participate in English (following discussions and presentations, express theirthoughts);
current residents of Estonia, Germany, Poland, Russia or Ukraine;
can organize their trip to the venue and back home, including tickets and visas (if necessary).
Accommodation and full board during the programme will be provided by organizers.
Accommodation will be organized in “Meininger Hotel Berlin-Airport”.
The participants will be ac-commodated in 3-4 beds-rooms with participants from other countries.
