Sabrina and Tamara presentation about EVS in Valga and Abja

EstYES 07.03.2018

The EVS is an amazing opportunity to go abroad and get to know another country through other eyes.

You can learn a new language and travel around the world. And the best part of it is: It’s free!
And this is the reason why we decided that we want to give other the same chance that we have. To make an EVS!

We prepared a presentation about the basic features of the EVS and its advantages and how you can apply for it. On the 23.01 we went to the school in Abja-Paluoja and hold our presentation in front of the kids from the 9th to the 12th class. As a little extra we also invited our friend Tatiana, a volunteer from Tallinn, to present the work camps to the youngsters. This way they learnt many new ways to take part in a voluntary service and see the world. At the end of the presentation we distributed flyers and stickers from EstYes, so that they already know an organization that can send them abroad and help them with any questions.

On the 5 th of February we were invited to present in front of a class in Valga Gymnasium. We presented the program and after it we gave them a chance to ask us questions. They were interested
in our home countries and our experiences here in Estonia, so they gave us the possibility to share our knowledge with them. At the end one girl came up and asked for more information, because she
would like to go to Germany! So I would say mission accomplished. In the end we were even invited for another presentation in other classes. They were really interested in spreading the news about
the EVS and also getting to know more about volunteering and our home countries.

So we can say that our mini initiative project was a success. And we hope that now a lot of young Estonians are ready to conquer the world!

Sabrina and Tamara stays in Estonia for 12 months within the project ”Boost the Mind ” which is funded by Erasmus+ European Voluntary Service program.
